Teachers in Gbonkelenkeh Embrace APC

As the upcoming election is fast approaching a huge number of teachers both in the primary and secondary schools in Gbonkelenkeh chiefdom, which covers Constituency 63 in the Tonkolili district, have declared their support of the governing APC.

Prior to this latest development a good number of the teachers were supporting the main opposition SLPP but the timely intervention of the Deputy Minister of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs Madam Rosaline Oya Sankoh (in photo), recently mobilized the teachers for the re-election of President Ernest Bai Koroma second time bid.

Addressing a well attended meeting with APC stakeholders in the chiefdom Madam Oya Sankoh thanked the people for their large turnout at a short notice, noting that it is a clear manifestation that the people still appreciation of the effort of the APC government.

She disclosed that you all have seen within the five years of President Koroma what he has done, notwithstanding free health care, good road networks, especially feeder roads, within the chiefdom, and agriculture.

Adam Oya Sankoh noted the township of Yele is now enjoying electricity and pipe borne water.

She said also that the president promised that if re-elected he will definitely construct Matotoka–Yele–Bo highway, therefore, she went on, I have summoned you here that the APC needs your support for another term which is the Agenda for Prosperity.

Responding a senior teacher at the SDA secondary school, Mr. Abdulai Jalloh aka Orjallay, former SLPP Campaign Strategist, thanked Madam Deputy Minister for her concern to the teachers.

Orjallay revealed that the moves by Madam Oya Sankoh are a clear manifestation that the APC is a grassroots party that cares for its people.  He said, he and his colleagues have declared for the APC.

Other speakers were the APC Campaign Manager in the constituency Aruna Koroma, Chairman of the Constituency, Sesay Kanu, Chairlady Madam Abie Kamara and the APC parliamentary Candidate Dr. Alusine Sesay.
