Hajj: The Role of Sierra Leone’s Press Attaché to Saudi Arabia
Sierra Leone’s Information Attaché to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not only positively marketing his country here in the Kingdom and the Gulf States, but has profoundly engaged in rendering most vital services to Sierra Leone pilgrims since his appointment to this region in September, 2009. It is worthy to note that President Koroma’s appointment of Alhaji M.B. Jalloh has indeed been a huge blessing to both Sierra Leoneans resident in the region and Sierra Leone pilgrims who annually come to the holy lands of Makkah and Madinah for the sole purpose of performing Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam.
Whoever knows and appreciates our Saudi Press Attaché knows that he is a man who does his job in good faith and with all the diligence, professionalism and patriotism that the assignment requires. As a matter of fact, it is due to the professionalism and dedication which he has so admirably displayed since his appointment to the Gulf that many Sierra Leoneans around the globe have come to know much about our pilgrims and the activities of the embassy based in Riyadh.
Here is man whose job is his priority and primary concern; here is a man who cools on the outside but profoundly burns and yearns for the progress, development and stability of our beloved Sierra Leone on the inside. Here is a man who is doing exactly what is expected and required of a Government appointee when it comes to the service of his nation and compatriots.
As a professional journalist, his on-the-time reporting and updates have made everyone who has a relative or a friend performing Hajj fully abreast of the daily happenings and the many stages through which their people are going. The Press Attaché is always physically available on the ground to disseminate the most current news about the pilgrims.
Thanks to President Ernest Bai Koroma, never before had this been the case before his appointment of his most dedicated and indefatigable Press Attaché to this region. Besides Hajj issues, the Attaché has relentlessly been rebranding Sierra Leone in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the Gulf region in so many domains.
Since his appointment three years ago, Jalloh has manifested unrivalled dedication to the service of his country and compatriots. He is a man who would not mind spending sleepless nights and days just to ensure that he meets the requirements of his job professionally and also meets the needs of his people in the best manner possible. He is selfless to the core. Sierra Leone pilgrims who have had the opportunity to perform Hajj in the last three years can buttress this fact. The Press Attaché has invariably been of huge help to everyone who encounters him in times of need.
