APC Overruns Freetown Sierra Leone
Thousands of APC supporters nationwide, in their party colors, on Thursday 11th October, 2012 processed through the streets of Freetown after the nomination of the party’s presidential candidate, his running mate, and parliamentarians.
The day resembled a public holiday as most business houses and schools were closed with most of the country’s population jubilating on the streets as a sign of appreciation to the President and his Government for the strides made to transform the country over the past five years.
Private and commercial vehicles and motorbikes were not left out of the celebration as they hooted their horns while the old and young and even the physically challenged could not be left out of the excitement.
President Koroma processed onboard a black jeep followed by his running mate Alhaji Sam Sumana who was also onboard a white jeep.
They were trailed by a mammoth crowd of APC candidates and their supporters.
Some of the supporters chanted slogans that they thronged the streets in their thousands -“Mr. Julius Maada Bio and his SLPP supporters to admit defeat by calling on NEC to declare President Koroma the winner of the November polls.”
