In Sierra Leone APC paints Kenema and Kailahun red
As the politics of Sierra Leone are now becoming much more interesting as all signs are pointing to a November crushing defeat for the opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) as it has already lost via defection of some of its major stake holders to the ruling All People’s congress (APC).
The ruling All People’s Congress (APC) party has on Thursday 11th October 2012 during their nomination day painted the city of Kenema and Kailahun township with red as more than two thousand people were out in the streets of Kenema and more than one thousand people were out in the township of Kailahun jubulating during the nomination
As stated by president Koroma, “Kailahun District and Kenema city are great Districts and cities, and great city and Districts need malls. So, my government has a great mall to great Kailahun District and Kenema city some people are claiming strongholds, but I want to tell you that our strongholds are the place where we put strong structures and good roads. Our strongholds are place where we construct great road that link people to market place and we have linked Kenema to Kailahun district and Kailahun district to other places”.
Within those wise words people are saying the honourable aspirant Robin Fallay, Tom Nyuama and Ismail Sesay has done a lot for the Segbwema town, Kailahun District Kenema district as a hold and that the APC did not in any way made a mistake in selecting Robin Fallay, Tom Nyuama Ismail Sesay and others as an aspirants since they are the choice of constituencies and Mayor vowing that they will overwhelmingly vote Robin Fallay and others as honourables and Mayors/chairmen for constituencies and councils come November 17 this year.
According to the youth of Segbwema, Kailahun, Kenema and its environs that it was because the district and city operates as a kind of “one party system” that was why the district and city did not make or bring any development in the district and the city. They however thanked the APC party for making it possible for them to have men of development to contest for the honourable ship position, councillorship and mayor ship/chairmanship stressing that as young people they are ready to give their fullest support to see that Robin Fallay, Tom Nyuama Ishmael Sesay becomes the next honourables and mayor.
