The campaign will officially kick off in Kailahun on October 12 and will end in Freetown with a big concert that will involve all the registered political parties in the country.

Save Mama Salone Foundation was officially launched in May 20, 2012 at the Miatta Conference Hall, Youyi Building. The project was initiated by a young and developmental oriented Sierra Leonean, Dauda Kamara Junior.

After that launch, the Foundation has been engaging on robust non-violence campaigns as the country draws closer to the November 17 elections.

Various political representatives are member of the White Flag Committee and have been working round the clock to ensure a peaceful election.

Hon. Musa Tamba Sam of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) said he is looking forward of hosting the biggest meeting with registered political parties.  The objective of the committee he said is to promote peace in the entire country and the people of Kailahun are very much happy about the visit.

It could be recalled, the Foundation in collaboration with the T. Town All Stars launched a peace and unity video entitled ‘Save Mama Salone’. The Video features two prominent hip-hop musical stars, Amara Denis Turay alias Kao Denero and Alhaji Amadu Bah alias LAJ. The remix of that song has been compiled by K- Man, M 2, Yok 7 and Hyden Adama,

The Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation disclosed that they will start the campaign in Kailahun on October 12, Bo October 14, Kono October 16, Kabala October 18, and Makeni October 20. He added the campaign will be in Freetown where prominent artists will display their musical talents.

The entrance, he stressed, will be free but emphasized that white flags and white T’ shirts will dominate the entire stadium as a sign of peace and non-violence elections.  Political leaders and civil society groups, he added will make statements.

Dauda Kamara Jnr., pointed out that they will be using musicians to get the attention of the youth, adding that the musicians will be supported by comedians and other entertainers.

He disclosed that they have formed a White Flag Committee comprising of all registered political parties. Members of the Committee include Hon. Musa Tamba Sam of the Opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Hon. Coleson of the All People Congress Party (APC), Christopher Bull of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) party among others.

He stressed that each political party will send ten or more representatives to serve as peace ambassadors in each district. He said the Foundation will mount white flags in all the districts as signs of achieving peace and bringing political parties together.

“All political parties, community stakeholders, religious leaders, and youth groups will make statements. We hope that the leaders will make it a point of duty to denounce violence and respect a non –violent election,” he said.

“We want to send out a clear message to the international community that Sierra Leone is safe and the country is ready to protect investors,” says Mr. Kamara Junior.

The Marketing Director Abdul Rahman Kamara said the current theme is the promotion of peaceful election nationwide on the platform of youth sensitization and interfacing with leading political figures of different political parties.

He went on to say that UNIPSIL is their great motivator and contributor to the Foundation’s vision.
