APC Commences Primary Elections for MPs
The Symbols Award Committee of the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) party has started its primary elections for candidates vying for the symbol of member of parliament in the 17th November, 2012 Multier election.
National Secretary General of APC, Victor Bockarie Foh (in photo) , who also doubles as the chairman Southern Provinces Symbol Award Committee told this press that the nationwide primary elections for MP candidates will go on until 27th September 2012, a day before the official September 28th 2012 deadline for submission of all political party nomination lists for the parliamentary elections.
Foh noted that an adequate mechanism has been put in place by the party to ensure that some of the issues that occurred during the APC local council primaries do not exist and further called on all aspirants to be law abiding and make all formal protests peacefully to the party.
Meanwhile the APC has concluded its nomination process for local council candidates with NEC.
According to the APC Secretary General a total of 413 candidates were nominated for local councils positions, 394 local councilors, 12 district chairperson, and 7 Mayor, formed part of the APC local council team.
Victor Foh promised all APC supporters transparent, credible, and peaceful primaries, which will subsequently lead to overall victory on 17th November.
