Top African artistes set to rock Kenya during closing ceremony of Airtel Rising Stars tournament
NAIROBI, Kenya, August 24, 2012/ — Kenyan music lovers are in for an entertainment treat this weekend as top African artistes prepare for a pan-African music extravaganza to be held Nairobi’s City Stadium. The high profile concert, to be held on Saturday, will bring the largest pan-African youth football tournament to an end following the final game of the Airtel Rising Stars Championship (http://www.airtel.com).

The concert will begin at 2 p.m. and plans to boast some of the continent’s most loved artistes including Nigerian artist 2face, Tanzanian rapper AY, Congolese crooner Papa Wemba and Kenyan gospel artist Daddy Owen.
The Championship – which kicked off on Monday – is part of the Airtel Rising Stars program, a soccer talent initiative that has focused on identifying and nurturing soccer talent from the grassroots onto a national stage. It will culminate in an invite-only party at Nairobi’s prestigious Carnivore nightclub celebrating the launch of 2face’s most soulful album yet: Away and Beyond.
