Plans to Demonstrate against Fatmata Hassan!

Latest reports reaching this press have indicated that there is an ongoing plan by relatives of the late Harry Yansaneh, Editor of ‘For Di People Newspaper’ to stage a demonstration against former Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP), parliamentarian Hon. Dr. Fatmata Hassan.

The late Editor was said to have died after allegations that he was beaten under the instruction of the former honorable Fatmata Hassan.

Addressing a battery of Journalists on Monday August 13th at a Press Conference at St Edwards Secondary School, Kingtom, Mr. Mohamed Thullah who is a relative of the late Harry Yansaneh revealed that the said former Honorable Fatmata Hassan, is currently planning to contest for District Council Chairman in Tonkolili under the All Peoples Congress Party (APC).

Mr. Thullah maintained that she is currently rumored to be awarded a symbol under the APC, he said relatives and even the APC National Support Group (NSG) are strongly against her candidature, and threatened that any attempt by the party in awarding her a symbol will be stalemated by a massive demonstration.

He said what angered the people of Tonkolili more is the fact that justice was not dispensed in the right direction, saying, though Dr. Hassan was detained at the Pademba Road Maximum prison, it was considered as a charade as she was released later under the orders of former Vice-President Ekuma Berewa.

Mr. Thullah maintained that currently presidential flag bearer Retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio is widely criticized over allegations that he was part of the extrajudicial killings of the twenty nine Sierra Leoneans, including the late James Bambay Kamara. He noted that if Fatamata Hassan is awarded a symbol it would look hypocritical on the part of the party

Mr. Thullah said further that the Police Headquarters in Tonkolili District has been informed of the ongoing plans of demonstration.
