Nicol-Wilson & Co Legal Consultants, Barrister & Solicitors of the High Court of Sierra Leone have vowed to put an end to impunity, especially on politicians who are in the habit of using political influences at the expense of the country as a whole.  It could be recalled that the above legal firm service has been retained by Lu Long Group as a result of assaults of staff members working for Ju Long Group who is been managed by Sierra Leonean, Fassaally Tarawally.  (Photo: Merlon Nicol-Wilson, of Nicol-Wilson & Co)

Investigation carried out by this medium revealed that Paramount Chief Sorie II of Konike Barine Chiefdom at Makali in the Tonkolili District, has earlier warned Fatmata Hassan that before going to any mining site in the Chiefdom she must first check with the Regional Mine Officer Makeni to ascertain whether she has any plot, for which according to the Paramount Chief P.C Sorie II, Fatmata has no mining plot in the Chiefdom.  “I also advised her that on no account she should visit the Chiefdom without my consent and the police but she refuses to adhere,” P.C Sorie II noted.

The Paramount Chief confirmed that Fatmata Hassan went ahead to organized thugs and caused serious problems in one of the peaceful districts in the country.  Our reporter at the Chiefdom confirmed that the chiefdom has a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese Company, Ju Long, for which the paramount chief signed on behalf of the chiefdom council, Youths, Women and community Elders.

Confirmed source also has it that Fatmata Hassan and her thugs beat two Chinese nationals so badly that two of them were rendered unconscious with lacerations all over their bodies.

Unconfirmed source has it that Fatmata Hassan has been mining for a decade without any benefit to the Chiefdom and the country as a whole.  It could be recalled that Famata Hassan was the first accused person in the manslaughter of journalist Harry Yansaneh during the ten years term of SLPP in office.

This medium is calling on Civil Societies Organizations to investigate the nature and degree of human right violations meted on this foreign investor, as the habit of subjecting detainees to inhuman and degrading treatment by some senior members of the police attached to the Criminal Investigations Department is gradually becoming a cause for concern.
