DIF-SL Feeds Disabled Persons in Lunsar, Sierra Leone
The Non Governmental Organization, Disable International Foundation Sierra Leone (DIF-SL) has donated food items to a cross section of disabled persons at the northern town of Lunsar. A team led by the Programs Coordinator, Robert Kondema Kargbo, delivered the assorted items to over 200 disabled beneficiaries at Fofana Street, Lunsar.
Chairman of the occasion, Foday Kabia said no such a time has come in the lives of the disabled persons when they have benefited from an organization than the manner in which DIF-SL has done it for them. The food items, he said, were delivered at the right time of fasting when hardship had almost prevented others from observing the rites of fasting. He thanked the Executive Director in absentia and the presenters on behalf of the organization for such a wonderful gesture.
The Programs Coordinator, Robert Kondema Kargbo said DIF-SL is a grassroots organization that cares for it beneficiaries, much as the organization hosts plans of ameliorating their plights. He said their organization would make sure that they do all within their zest and power to meet their commitments in terms of saving the plights of the disable.
The Programs Coordinator said they have plans to replicate the same gesture to Makeni, Lungi and the capital, Freetown. The final distribution of the items was done by Madam Jatu who told the beneficiaries that the NGO was aware of the fact that the month of Ramadan often comes with financial difficulties. She advised the beneficiaries to use the food items judiciously and wished them a blessed Ramadan.
A skit performance by the visually impaired members of disabilities climaxed the program.
