2011-12 Premiership Champions to Be Decorated Today
2011-12 Premier League Champion, Diamond Stars of Kono City will be decorated by the Premier League Board at the Sierra Leone Bank Complex at Kingtom at 8:00pm. (Happy Diamond Stars supporters ready to celebrate with their team)
Diamond Stars FC who ended with 50 points and the only provincial team to win the premier league championship, are currently in town with thousands of home supporters, sponsors, executive members, technical team, residents of Kono and indigenes of Kono’s across the country, are delighted to see their beloved team receiving their championship trophy donated by “Save the Children” with medals and financial packages.

Explaining to Sierra Express Media, the chairman of the Premier League Board said all modalities have been put in place for the occasion to go on as planned, adding all powerful football stakeholders from across the country will be present.
The team manager of Diamond Stars, chief Paul .N. Saquee said all those who played a vital part in the success of Diamond Stars, including Octe’a Mining Company, Paramount chiefs of Kono, and the Vice President Chief Sam Sumana, will all be present at the prestigious ceremony to hand over the trophy.
Victor Lewis revealed the chief grand patron of the occasion will be His Excellency Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma.
