Orange and Gameloft team up to launch new mobile games services in Africa and Middle East

A strong partnership to promote mobile games in Africa and Middle East

Orange (http://www.orange.com), which is represented in 22 countries in Africa and Middle East, is teaming up with Gameloft, a leading global publisher of digital and social games, to make mobile games and offers available on smartphones and java compatible devices. This partnership is part of Orange’s commitment to provide digital entertainment and multimedia services to our customers.

  • In Jordan, Ivory Coast, Mauritius and Madagascar, mobile games offers are already available to customers under the Orange brand, whereas the same offers are available in Egypt under the Mobinil brand

The new mobile games offer from Orange and Gameloft will make use of Gameloft’s most popular titles such as Asphalt 6 : Adrenaline; Assassin’s Creed : Revelations; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2; The Avengers; and more.

Orange is also an official sponsor of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and is supporting its commitment to African football through the Gameloft partnership by pre-installing Gameloft Real Football 2012on mobile phones for customers.

Initial launches already successful

Through this partnership, Orange and Gameloft will make more than 300 games available through a dedicated section of the Orange mobile portal. After a successful launch in Ivory Coast, Mauritius, Madagascar and Jordan, this new mobile games offer was also been launched in Egypt on 26 June 2012, and available for 32 millions Mobinil customers.

Since January 2012 a selection of three Gameloft mobile games have been pre-installed on low-priced smartphones. Thanks to their easy access on the home screen of the device, these games were available through the « Try and Buy » mode which allows customer to test the game before buying it in a few clicks.

Orange has a commitment to make mobile multimedia and the mobile internet to even more of its customers around the world, and this partnership with Gameloft will allow it contribute to the democratization of mobile multimedia usage in Africa and the Middle East.
