Parliament visits late deputy speaker’s residence
Freetown, July 18 (SLENA): The leadership of House of Parliament on Monday 16thJuly, 2012 visited the residence of the late deputy speaker, Hon Chukuma Johnson at Regent Road Lumley, west end of Freetown.
Speaking on behalf of parliament, the majority leader in parliament and head of government business, Hon SBB Dumbuya, called on the bereaved family to take heart as Chukuma served his people and nation diligently, saying they will continue to be with the family during difficult times.
The Clerk of Parliament, Mr. Ibraihim Sulaiman Sesay assured that parliament will closely work with the family to see that the late is given a fitting burial ceremony.
Sister Cordelier Sankoh, one of the family members, thanked the parliamentarians for the visit, adding that her late father was a man who stood on the desire to serve Sierra Leone.
On his part, Hon Coleson Turay of the APC commended the leadership of parliament for the visit and referred to the late MP as a man for everyone.
Hon David Soriebah of the SLPP also joined the others in praising the late man.
