GYAC Launches New Campaign

The Global Youth Anti-Corruption Network Sierra Leone (GYAC) has officially launched “My hands are clean campaign” last Wednesday at the National Youth Commission’s (NYC) conference hall at the National Stadium in Freetown.

Speaking during the launch, the chairperson of the program, Georgetter De’ Marke stressed that the reasons behind such a campaign slogan was to engage youths, political parties and stakeholders to refrain from violent activities in the observance of the November 17  elections.

Mrs. Marke said the issue of violence has been escalating in the recent past within the electioneering process stating further that marking this campaign slogan her organization will school youths on how they should refrain from violent activities, adding that this is the time for them to write off those negative sentiments against the youths.

Lending his voice on the issue, Political Parties Registration Commission’s (PPRC) youth officer, Ibrahim Amara Kamara said PPRC shares the same ideology of non-violence in the observance of elections in the country.

Mr. Kamara maintained that his Commission is poised to keep every iota of its mandates to ensure that those defaulters of the PPRC code are punished accordingly.
