Barber Disclaims Emmerson Show

A prominent Sierra Leonean based in London, has disclaimed news report that he was part of the group which organized the so-called Emmerson Charity show.

Barber Kamara has been linked to be part of the group which organized the show after he appeared in a photo (wearing a black suite with red tie) together with Emmerson and other members of the organizing group.

Kamara said he was very surprised and disappointed that he was being labelled as a member of that organizing committee, adding that he knew nothing about Emmerson’s show at the Fridge Club since it was a low-key affair.

He explained that he came outside the Brixton hall where the All People’s Congress (APC) party was coincidentally organizing an appreciation dance in honour of President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, when he met some of his friends – among them Emmerson.

Barber said he did not know why they were standing outside the hall the APC was organizing the show or what their mission was.”

He said they had a chat, exchanged jokes and then eventually he was asked to take a photo with them which he did not knowing it was going to be misconstrued to mean something else.

“I think I was at the wrong place at the wrong time,” Barber said.

He said since the publication came out, he has been receiving embarrassing and conflicting calls from relatives and friends which is damaging his reputation.

He therefore wants to make it categorically clear that he was not in anyway whatsoever connected with the Emmerson show.
