The Programme Manager for Disable International Foundation – Sierra Leone, Robert A. Kargbo has described June 16, the day of the Africa Child, as glorious. Commemorating the day under the theme: “Improving the Lives of Children with Disabilities,” he said the founder and Executive Director, Madam Imambay Kadie Kamara (in photo) has got a dream quest to ameliorate the suffering of persons with disabilities in Sierra Leone. On this backdrop, he said, she has placed priority to improving the lives of these categories as they also constitute to the nationalism and population of Sierra Leone in a wholesome way.
Robert disclosed that, Madam Imambay Kadie Kamara was awarded an International Focus award on the very day of African Child as a result her hard work in pushing the welfare dreams of members of her targeted beneficiaries.
The Program Manager said Disable International Foundation is currently locked with activities gearing towards mobilizing and resuscitating members of the disable communities.
Marking the day of Africa Child with the disable persons, a quiz competition was organized for primary Schools and the Muslim Primary School emerged winner and the Bethel Infant Primary came as runners up.
Popular comedian and music artist Jawu Katteh however climaxed the commemoration with a musical.
Gust speaker for the occasion was Thomas Alie, Chief Executive Director Education, Center for the Blind and vision impaired.
Robert iterated that the day was fantastically observed with special focus to the organization’s core objectives, mission and vision.
However, one of the local mining companies, London Mining climaxed the day with a commitment bond to support the Disable International Foundation.
