Rodney Strasser Charity Foundation Donates in Bo
AC Milan and Leone Stars versatile midfielder, Rodney Strasser has donated assorted items to school going children and football kids of the southern provinces on Saturday June 23rd at the Bo Coronation field.
Those who benefitted from Rodney Strasser’s Charitable Foundation include the United Methodist Church Secondary School, Paul’s School for the Blind, the St. Andrews Secondary School, the Bo Government Secondary School, the Kakua Government Junior Secondary School, the S.L.M.B Junior Secondary School, the Queens of Rosary School, Christ the King College, and the Edmond Michael U-12 and U-14 football teams.
Donating the assorted items which included Blankets, Bags, Books and other items, Strasser said he was delighted to have met his beneficiaries as his plans were to help in promoting their various academic football talents which will have to earn them their future.
In delight, the kids thanked the AC Milan philanthropist and wished him well in his football career. The Principals of Christ the King college, Ibrahim Tucker and Musa Amara of the Bo Government Secondary School, on behalf of all schools thanked Rodney Strasser for his timely gesture and concern for school children in Bo.
Coordinators of the program, Kofi Nyarko, and Lamin Lambert both of BDFA said they were happy that Rodney Strasser thought it fit to donate to the kids of Bo. They said Strasser bridged the difference, though he was born in Freetown but he did not stop there, he came to Bo to donate which makes him a real nationalistic Sierra Leonean.
Immediately after the presentation ceremony, a friendly match was played between Bo All Stars versus Friends of Rodney Strasser and Bo All Stars won 2-1.
Kick-off was taken by Madam-Jestina Michael, wife of F.A Presidential Aspirant, Rodney Michael.
Bo All Stars took the lead through the penalty spot taken by Junior Simbo in the 15th, minute but friends of Rodney Strasser got an equalizer through left back, Pa Ernest Kamara in the 51st, minute from a re-bounce.
Bo All Stars made it 2-1 mid second half to win the match in front of about eight thousand fans.
High profile players who graced the Rodney Strasser Foundation football match include Mohamed Kallon, Ibrahim Teteh Bangura, Mohamed Pobosky Bangura, Ibrahim Bunduka, Sheriff Suma, Mohamed Medo Fornah, Alimu System Koroma, Kemokai Kallon, Christian Caulker, and Pa. Ernest Kamara, Tokoyie and Rodney Strasser himself.
The Bo District football Association (BDFA) in collaboration with Edmond Michael’s Foundation threw a lavish party for Leone Stars and Friends of Rodney Strasser Foundation on the same day at the Madam Wokie Hotel.
Mr. Rodney Michael thanked the players and foundation members at the party for the love they showed in gracing the occasion.
Rodney Strasser on behalf of Leone Stars players and the Foundation thanked BDFA and Edmond Michael Foundation for their warm welcome in receiving them and the hospitality shown the delegation from Freetown.
He thanked all who contributed in diverse ways the make the program successful.
