Strasser: I’m 100% ready for Livorno debut
Rodney Strasser (in photo) has declared himself “100% ready” to make his Livorno debut against Bari 1908 at their Stadio Armando Picchi this Saturday after his loaned move from Genoa completed on transfer deadline day.
The Sierra Leonean has been on the side-lines since dislocating his shoulder playing for Sierra Leone against Swaziland in Freetown last year.
“Making my debut after a long time out injured is something I’m looking forward to because I’m 100% ready to play,” the 24 year old told www.footballsierraleone.net just after confirming the news.
“Returning to the football pitch again is making me excited; I’m delighted to help Livorno gain promotion, am positive about everything and this is another chance to prove myself.”
The Serie B side Livorno Calcio agreed to take the Genoa midfielder on loan in a bid to strengthen their midfield as they fight for Serie A promotion.
Head coach Ezio Gelain also reinforced his team with two other players – outright defender Alan Pereira from Florentina and Emanuel Rivas from Varese.
Strasser has been on Livorno radar for a while, in 2013 Livorno reportedly interested in a move for the Sierra Leone international but the deal collapse at the time Milan wants the player to stay.
