High Commissioner lauds foreign athletes
The High Commissioner His Excellency Edward Mohamed Turay and the entire Staff of the Sierra Leone High Commission would like to thank all those foreign nationals who took part in last weekend’s marathon in Makeni, to raise funds for thousands of street children in Sierra Leone.
The High Commissioner considers this as a ‘priceless sacrifice’ on the part of the men and women who sacrificed their time, energy, money and above all their lives to make this venture a massive success.
“We don’t know how much to thank you for such a wonderful humanitarian sacrifice – it is something we will always live to remember,” said the High Commissioner at his 41 Eagle Street, Holborn, West Central London office.
Turay also want to thank the organisers: Kiln Sierra Leone and Street Kids for their initiative in organising such a great historic venture.
“On behalf of His Excellency President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, the Government and people of Sierra Leone, I want to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to you all,” said the High Commissioner, who also hopes that proceeds gained from this charity venture will go a long way in improving the lives of deprived children in Sierra Leone.
The Sierra Leone High Commission want to also express special thanks to the Management of Kevin Mcphilips Travel Agency for their support in ensuring the success of this project.
