Three indictments issued on SLRTA, 4Him and Lands Ministry

The Anti-Corruption Commission on the 15th May 2012 filed in the High Court of Freetown the following indictments:

  • An eighteen (18) count indictment against Josiah Paris, owner of the Universal Media and Advertising Agency, Kelphala Yansaneh, Mohamed Tejan Kella and Albert Sombey all three officials of the SLRTA.
  • A twenty (20) count indictment against Rev. Hassan Mansaray and Abdul Aziz Bangura, the General Overseer and the Accountant of 4 H.I.M, Sierra Leone.
  • A three (3) count indictment against Joseph Chochoma Karim Tommy, a surveyor of the Ministry of Lands, Country Planning and The Environment.  

The indictment against Mr. Josiah Paris and the three officials of the SLRTA alleges among other things the misappropriation of Public Revenue and Funds totaling Le 343,854,000 (three hundred and forty three million Leones eight hundred and fifty four thousand Leones).  

Rev. Hassan Mansaray and Abdul Aziz Bangura are indicted on charges relating to the misappropriation of donor funds, donor property and being in possession of unexplained wealth including land and corporate property. 

Mr. Joseph Chochoma Karim Tommy is charged with Soliciting an advantage and attempt to commit corruption offence. 

All ten indicted persons will be brought before the High Court in Freetown on the 21st of May 2012. Meanwhile at the SLRTA, further ACC investigations continue on issues of financial mismanagement.

The Commission wishes to reassure the general public of its unrelenting resolve in the fight against corruption in Sierra Leone.
