Sierra Leone advance to next round African Under 20 championship
Sierra Leone came from behind to beat Chad on Sunday to advance to the next round of qualifying for the 2013 African Under-20 Championship.
The Shooting Stars won 2-1, to make it 5-3 on aggregate, and puts them through to face Cameroon in the next stage.
The other teams to secure progress over the weekend were Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Niger, Uganda and Morocco.
The finals are in Algeria next year, with places at the 2015 Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand on offer.
Sierra Leone’s win came thanks to goals from substitute Brima Jalloh and captain Gibril Lalas Fofanah, after Ninga Casimir Rodrique had put the visitors in front in Freetown.

Tanzania were beaten 2-1 by Sudan in Khartoum but still go through to the next stage thanks to their 3-1 home victory in the first leg.
Yousif Abdelrahman put the home team in front to give them hope of overturning the deficit but Thomas Ulimwengu equalised for Tanzania almost immediately and a late penalty for Sudan was not enough.
Zimbabwe held on to a 1-1 draw in Botswana but go through thanks to their 4-0 home win in the first leg; Niger completed a big win over Liberia with a 3-1 away victory to add to their 3-0 home success and Rwanda beat Namibia 2-1 at home to go with their 2-0 win from the first leg.
Morocco and Mauritania drew 2-2 but Morocco had a 5-0 win from the first leg in the bank and Uganda also progress after a 1-1 draw with Mozambique, thanks to their 4-0 first leg victory.
There is one tie still to be determined – Libya and Tunisia will play the second leg of their match-up in Khartoum on 11 May, with Tunisia having a narrow 3-2 win from the first leg.
