Routes to My Rootz nomination for iPhone Film Festival
After over a decade of being away from Sierra Leone, Nick Asgill decided to put his money where his heart is. He traveled back to Sierra Leone, unaccompanied, and unannounced. Determined to stand out from the rest, he packed his bags and armed himself with his i-Phone to document the 6,000 miles+ trip to Freetown West Africa for the first time in over 10 years.
Nick’s extract of a short film he shot on his i-phone has been put up for nomination at the iPhone Film Festival. The film, titled “Routes to My Rootz,” is the first Sierra Leonean and African film to be put up by the prestigious niche festival.
