MAFA crowned champions in SLPP’s Non Violence Gala

FC Kallon’s Mohamed Bililie Bangura’s goal separated the two sides to the hour mark. Grassfield, Hill Station, Wilberforce, Aberdeen, Murray Town, Brookfields, Cole Farm, and MAFA have all participated in the three week long ding dong gala.
Mr. Thomas Daddy Brima popularly known as “Mac Dad” and John B. Tucker widely known as “J.T.” were the co-sponsors.
Mr. Brima is aspiring for the Mayoral seat in the capital Freetown’s Western Area, while Mr. Tucker is vying for the parliamentary seat in Constituency 112 under the ticket of the opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party.
The champions MAFA received a cash prize of Le 4 million, runners-up Cole Farm received the sum of Le 2 million, and Grassfield received the sum of Le 500,000 as the best behaved team.
Addressing the pool of crowd, the SLPP presidential nominee, Retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio appealed to party supporters to be law abiding as his party the SLPP does not tolerate violent people. He said all must respect the party’s motto which is “One country, One People”. He assured his supporters of victory come 17th November 2012.
The co-sponsors thanked all who supported them in diverse ways to stage a successful football gala event. They promised to replicate the gala to the centre of the Western Area and later in the far East of the capital Freetown.
