He admonished them to refrain from violence as they should always remain law abiding citizens.

Founder and Chief Executive Director of the Disable International Foundation-SL, Imambay Kadie Kamara thanked all the physically challenged persons who attended the launching ceremony for the hospitality shown to her throughout her period of encounter with them.

She said she has them in her prayers and mind and asked the disable persons to remember her in their all important prayers so that she would be blessed and achieve the bigger plans she has in mind for all the disable categories in the country.

The Operational Commander of the Makeni Police Stations, JD Maboo lauded that persons with disabilities in Makeni are very much respectful. He said since the start of the year none of them has been reported for criminal offences.

The Regional Director of the Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs, Patricia Mansaray pointed out the degree of discriminations persons with disabilities are going with. She said there are limited accesses for people with disabilities to public buildings and commercial public transport which still remain a burning issue.

Sulaiman Sixty Kamara, one of the polio victim beneficiaries called on his colleagues – the physically challenged to be themselves and try to belong to the disable organizations across the country.

He said disables should not use streets begging as an advantage to eek out their daily living as it goes a long way to depreciate their human dignity and values. He called on all of them to send their children to the various schools to have them capacitated.
