Juba All Stars lifts Marjay Town trophy
Juba All Stars FC have lifted the Marjay Town Football Promoters gold trophy and cash prize of Le 400,000 on Sunday April 9. The runners up Beckham FC went home with a silver trophy and the sum of Le100, 000.
The final saw Beckham FC opened the score line in the 18th minute following a Alie Kamara through pass in a counter attack.
Juba All Stars FC replied in the second half of play having dominated a considerable ball possession for a third half in the final segment of the game. Mohamed Kanu leveled the score 1-1 from a goal mouth struggle inside the 6 yard box to send the match into post penalties, which they won by 9-8.
Benjamin Koroma of Beckham FC received the boots-man award as he emerged the highest goal scorer in the tournament. Alusine Kamara of Marjay Stars seconded him as he emerged best player of the tournament. Lamin Keita Mansaray of Juba All Stars received the sum of Le100,000 from one of the sponsor, Mr. Osman Fofanah for being man of the match in the grand final.
Speaking to the chief organizer of this competition, Sulaiman Sankoh he said the entire competition was peaceful. He thanked those who played diverse ways in making the competition a success.
