As ACC extradites Sorious and others – VP Sumana to testify
Suspects of the Al-Jazeera ‘Timbergate’ documentary footage, Alex Mansaray, Momoh Conteh, Sorious Samura and the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Chief Samuel Sam Sumana, have been under the watchful eyes of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) who are still investigating elements of corruption and bribery claims exposed by the television cable network sometime in November of last year.
Sorious Samura, a BBC journalist hired by Al-Jazeera to uncover corruption in Sierra Leone, his country of birth, under its popular broadcasting program: “Africa Investigates Corruption”, is being critiqued by the ACC to ascertain the relevance of crime in relation to corruption.
ACC sources have tipped Sierra Express Media that the ACC have taken testimonies of Alex Mansaray, Momoh Conteh, and Sorious Samura having being brought home by Interpol to face extradition.
The ACC, according to our source, considers the case a menace and a serious offence that is likely to dampen the image of Sierra Leone, especially the office of the Vice President.
Public opinion has held a strong view ever since the release of the video footage for ACC to take a critical look into the matter.
