Premier League is our target
The Chairman of newly promoted Division 2 side Amani FC, George Nelson Williams aka Amani has said that he is optimistic that his side will reach the highest level of qualifying to the premier league.
He said he is happy that his side has secured a place in the up-coming Division Two competition scheduled to commence this month “We went through a lot of challenges when we were in non division. I am quite aware that the coming Division Two competition will be a difficult one. Our approach will be the same and the payers and technicals are looking forward to it. We hope to participate only once in both Division One and Division Two competitions respectively. “Though it would be a difficult battle to conquer, I strongly believe we can qualify to the Premier in the near future, “Amani revealed.
When asked what inspired him to set up Amani FC, he replied, “Football has been part of me since I was a Kid, but my parents preferred education to football,” he said.
According to Amani, he decided to encourage these young boys to showcase their talents. “We might have Mohamed Kallon, Kama Dumbuya and Brima Mazola in this team I am happy to state that “my family played a key role in inspiring these boys and also the success of the team.”
Central defender, Ibrahim Kabba said he is optimistic they can qualify to the Division 1 League next season. “It will be a difficult task to conquer.
“But with oneness and commitment we shall surely go through as we have played a series of friendly matches and our results were much encouraging as we are confident of qualifying as our dream is to take the team to the premier league.”
He admonished supporters of Amani FC to refrain from violence as football is a peaceful game that brings divided parties together.
