Cricket encounter – Albert Academy beats St. Edwards 29 runs
The Inter-Secondary School Cricket Championship saw Albert Academy through with 29 runs up against St. Edwards in their first encounter on Tuesday March 13th.
St. Edwards won the toss on choosing to field first. Albert Academy batted first and scored 54 runs for the loss of six wickets.
Lahai Tengbeh scored ten runs with Peter Juana making the 13th. Edwards’s bowler, David Holloway took three wickets in two overs whilst Senessi S. Kargbo and K. Marah took one wicket each.
St Edwards replied with 25 runs in high tension. Albert Academy’s bowler, Lahai Tengbeh took six wickets with Tamba John taking two in a row.
Meanwhile, Lahai Tengbeh emerged as Man of the Match.
In another encounter of the same day, Government School Kingtom beat Government Rokel by 31 runs. Government Kingtom won the toss and chose to bat first and scored 58 runs all out in 8.2 overs.
John Lassayo and B. Koroma scored nine runs each for Kingtom Squad. With Rokel bowling, Momodu Turay took four wickets, and Osman Kamara, two.
Government Rokel replied with 27 runs Aiah Mongorque, scored 17 runs net out.
Government Kingtom bowling, Kaiwandi Pessima took five wickets in two overs whilst Lassayo and Abu Dumbuya took one wickets each.
Kaiwandi Pessima of Government School Kingtom emerged Man of the match.
