NDA Gears for more female representation

Following developments in the build up to the November polls, women in the NDA have galvanised their folks into believing there are many chances within the party.

The gender mainstream advocacy have run in the annals of politics in Sierra Leone, not too long ago, and it took the NDA to emerge thus that the party awarded the running mate baton to a female, Magaret Sidiki Baimba, for the first time in history.

Following a series of meetings held by the women’s wing of the NDA in Waterloo, Tombo, in the Western Rural District of Freetown these women resolved to come into politics in grand style.  Chairlady Mama Joe of the Waterloo NDA women’s branch told me in an interview that inasmuch as the NDA accords respect, space and authority to express their political franchise they are ready to abide loyal with them. “This political space,” she says, “needs some people to fill its vacuum and women like us can do it better,” she boasted.

Mama G of ward 340, Constituency 94 said they are ready to make the difference of working side by side this time with men to achieve a greater nation. She said Sierra Leone will grow with the concerted effort of both genders.
