The new Skye Bank, led by a new Managing Director Lawrence Okate, has geared up its operations for the 2012 financial year.
Mr. Okate holds an MBA degree from Edo State University and a Masters degree in Managerial Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
He has over 15 years banking experience having worked in United Bank for Africa and Zenith International Bank Plc before joining Prudent Bank Plc and subsequently Skye Bank Plc.
He has worked as a Regional Manager supervising Surulere and Aba branches in Lagos, Nigeria.
He did a stint in Skye Bank (Gambia) Limited. He has also worked as a Business Development Manager in various locations in Nigeria.
Mr. Okate has attended several local and International Senior Management Training programs and also at the Pan African University (Lagos Business School).
His areas of expertise include Commercial and Retail Banking, Corporate Banking and Public Sector, Strategic Planning and Treasury Management.
Under his leadership, Skye Bank SL. Ltd now offers exciting products like Skye Money Wise, Skye Rainbow and African Payment System.
Skye Wise offers the individual the benefits of both the savings and current account with the use of non-clearing cheque book.
Its features entail a monthly interest paid on account balances (1% above normal savings interest), and a zero COT on account.
Skye Rainbow or children banking also has benefits like third party withdrawals, on line banking facility, issuance of cheques, dividend warrants and other forms of third party payments which is designed with special features that benefit parents seeking to save for their children’s education and other needs. It is a fabulous way to teach children early saving techniques.
The Africa Payment System is a fast money transfer service to African Countries offered by the Bank.
