Koinadugu goes APC
KABALA, SIERRA LEONE; Koinadugu district has been declared as over 90% in support of the All People’s Congress (APC) by proud stalwart and son of the soil, Hon. Philipson Kamara aka PH. Speaking at a meeting held to present new members of the party at the Yogomaia Field, Kabala, PH informed President Koroma and entourage that he has been talking to his brothers and sisters to see reason to join the APC.
“We have talked to our people to join us in the APC for it is the only party that can develop Sierra Leone and we thank God for giving us Ernest Bai Koroma as leader and as President, who is giving APC members the zeal to work hard”, he said.
The Member of Parliament also noted that, “The people of Koinadugu are now more than 90% firmly behind the APC, which is a clear indication of appreciation for the tireless efforts of the party and the astute and transformative leadership of President Koroma”.
President Koroma described the massive support demonstrated by the people of Koinadugu District as a positive development. He welcomed the new members into the APC political family and guaranteed equal treatment and opportunities for all regardless of whether you are a new or old member.
“Your coming to the APC has completed the process of Koinadugu going more than 100% APC which is an indication that the people of Koinadugu do appreciate our efforts in infrastructural and transformative development, agriculture, energy, health service delivery as well as other key programmes under the Agenda for Change”, said President Koroma.
He handed over a brand new tractor to the community to further enhance agricultural activities in the district. He also revealed that electricity will be provided for Kabala soon, while adding that, “We will do the roads from Kabala to Kurubonla, from Makakura to Yinfin and very soon Koinadugu will be different from how it is currently.”
President Koroma observed that the district has exceeded his expectations with high motivation”.
In a brief welcome address, Paramount Chief Alie Ballasama Marah The 3rd extended his profound gratitude and appreciation to the APC and its leadership for the commendable development and progress taking place all over the country.
He described President Koroma as a hardworking and visionary leader who is living up to the expectations of the people. “We won’t let you down Mr. President and we are ready to work and cooperate with you and your government”, declared Chief Alie Marah.
Among those who declared openly for the APC were the Mandingo tribal head, Alhaji Sorie Bayoh, Haja Sundu Jarawa and her Cooperative Women’s Organization, Mrs. Fatu Fall, Aljahi Kemoh Kanji Daramy, former SLPP District Chairman, Alhaji A. Batorma Sheriff, former SLPP District Organizing Secretary Mohamed Mado Kamara and members of the Cow Yard Youth Organization.
Alhaji Kanji Daramy confessed that President Koroma has actually exceeded his expectations, and therefore referred to him as a visionary, hardworking, committed and determined leader.
He said President Koroma has demonstrated continuous commitment and political will in the implementation of the free health care initiative, the restoration of energy and the provision of safe drinking water and the ongoing equitable infrastructural development all across the country.
“Apart from these, the number of projects that are being implemented by the government of President Koroma have left me with no alternative but to join him to continue the good work now in motion. So we are firmly behind you and we will give you all our support”, Alhaji Kemoh Kanji Daramy vowed.
SLPP Chairman Alhaji A.B. Sheriff assured President Koroma of victory in the 2012 Presidential elections by bringing all Mandingos onboard President Koroma’s Agenda for Change.
Cultural performances formed the climax of the presentation and declaration ceremony of new members to the Leader and Presidential Candidate of the APC.
