Southern Christian College reaches Sierra Leone
Researchers of the Southern Christian College Community Education Research and Extension Administration based in the Philippines are currently on a working visit in Sierra Leone to enable them gain experiences country’s post war era; taking into thought that their country – the Philippines – is in a similar situation.
Elma Negra who doubles as Vice President the forenamed said experiences gained out of the Sierra Leoneans war will surely help solve the situation in the Philippine.
She noted however that as researchers they will take for serious strategies implemented in Sierra Leone in the restoration of sanity in the country.
She praised Sierra Leoneans on grounds of religious, tribal and political tolerance and said, all as above, are prevalence in the country.
She emphasized on rate of illiteracy in the country, and said in the Philippines it is lower than in Sierra Leone.
She expressed the need for improvement in terms of education – same should be used as a tool for positive transformation and development.
In her assessment, she commended the Sierra Leone Adult Literacy Association (SLADEA).
It could be recalled that SLADEA played active role in the commemoration of International Day of Peace on 21st September, 2011.
The Southern Christians College Community Education, Research and Extension Administration (SCC CEREA) is an active partner in the building of society.
They help improve on individual’s capacities, organizations and communities thus empowering them in their pursuits to advance their legitimate aspirations, values and dignity.
SCC CEREA is a vehicle for interactions among government, industries and churches in the pursuit of knowledge and ecological sustainable development.
