Love One Another complements free health care

Consistent with their resolve to demonstrate love at the expense of exploitation among Sierra Leoneans, the Love One Another Campaign has gifted medical equipments and other training materials to various vulnerable groups as a promotion to the free health care initiative.

Speaking to the press on the distribution of the items, the Director and founder of the organisation Dr. Christian TH Bell explained that the donation of medical equipment to the various groups is a complement towards the free health care initiative of the government of President Ernest Bai Koroma, while that of the training materials remains an effort to capacitate the youth to be self reliant and gainfully employed.

The Director pointed out that the donations were facilitated by partners in Germany including, Mothers helping Mothers, Bintumani-Sierra Leone Foundation, and Dr. Morley Wright.

He furthered that, the items ranged from wheelchairs and crutches, beds, rolators, a modern ultrasound scanning machine, auto–clave, used clothing, sewing machines and others.

Dr. Bell revealed that his organisation has already acquired space in the northern Makeni city and York in the western rural district for the building of training centres to add to that in Kono and Tombo, coupled with a primary school, also in Kono.

The items which were doled out to the Ola During Children’s Hospital, The Freetown Cheshire Home, Polio House on Ecowas Street and other needy groups arrived in Freetown in the past weeks and charges were offset by the German Technical Cooperation in Sierra Leone, the GTZ.  Read a full detail in subsequent issue.
