Koidu Town Mayor dragged to court

It is disclosed in the well of the court that Mayor Gbenda, on number of times, received money and bulding materials from one Mr. Abdul K. Barrie the Proprietor of Men’s Enterprise with promised of reimbursing the latter knowing same to be false.
In the particulars of offence, it is stated that on diverse dates between February 2008 and January 2009, at No. 4 Kondewa Street, Koidu Town Kono District… the accused, with intent to defraud, obtained building materials valued at Le 79,952,000 from Abdul K. Barrie by falsely pretending that he will pay for the said goods knowing same to be false.
That he also obtained credit by fraud other than false pretences from the complainant contrary to section 13(1) of the Debtors Act of 1869.
Even though testimonies are yet to commence, it is however indicated in the indictment chat that the Kono Mayor has had field days collecting building materials from Abdul to speed up the construction of his house at Sukudu Village in Koidu town at will.
That at one point the Mayor instructed Abdul to pay US$5,500 to someone in Kenema for the purchase a Nissan Pathfinder Jeep for him.
The amount was reportedly paid to the unknown Kenema inhabitant and it was expected that he (Mayor Gbenda) pay back but did not at all.
