Sierra Leonean pair sets for Madrid’s meet

Sierra Leonean two of a kind, Alfred Zagallo Sankoh (in photo) and Ola Kamara who play their football with Norwegian Premiership side Stromgodset IF, has told Sierra Express Sports from their training base in Spain that they are happy to be part of Coach Renny Deila selection that will face Athletico Madrid tomorrow 28 July 2011.

The Norwegian side will meet with Athletico Madrid in the First leg of the third rounds of the UEFA CUP Qualifiers after getting a 2-1 win over IK Start in the domestic league Friday 22 July 2011.

Information from the club’s website states that both players have formed an integral part to their side gets comfortable 3rd position in the Norwegian league.

“We are of the belief Zagallo and Ola can match up the task and will contain the Spanish side tomorrow.”

“The Sierra Leonean twosome has secured their club with 14 goals in the Norwegian league.”

 “It is an important match for both sides. We respect the Spanish side, but to us, we need a win at all cost,” Zagallo said.

“Our coach has insisted on wining. That win at the 1st leg is great advantage for us.

The midfielder further said he is hopeful to have a good day tomorrow as this is the biggest encounter he has ever played.

“Playing against Diego Folan, Sergio Agerrio, Miguel, and host of others who have had wealth of experience in the field of play is big assignment and achievement,” Zagallo said.

 The 23 year old said they have been out of UEFA competition for 12 consecutive years. That they lost to Liverpool 12- 1 on aggregate but admonished all that Stromgodset is well determined to meet the Spanish side this time round.

Striker Ola Kamara said he will use this match to informatively convince the Sierra Leone Football Association that he can make a better choice in the national team.

The uncapped star said playing against Athletico Madrid is dream come true for Sierra Leoneans as it will add feathers to the country’s football status.

“I would be representing my team as well as my country.”
