Presenting the trophy to the GM, team captain, Muwhid Sesay said they were proud to fulfil the assignment given to them by the general manager and hope to continue such form and retain the crown again next season.

Receiving the trophy, Cpt. Davies thanked the players and the technical team for what he described as ‘a job well done’ though admitting that God was also on the team’s side to success.

“I was able to watch few of your games in which some we were lucky, others were not in our advantage but God was on our side and we proved we are the best by winning the title,” Captain Davies said and ordered the boys to retain the title in the two upcoming seasons so that the crown will be theirs.

He said: “I am very happy to receive the trophy which means you keep up to the assignment I gave.  Now you should commit yourself and keep fit to win the title for three consecutive years because I want it to be ours.”

“This is the beginning of good things to come. This club will be well sponsored and our players will be well catered for which will influence others to beg to play for us,” Cpt. Davies promised.

The SLPA GM said they will do all in their power to let all the members of the  company operating in the quay to sponsor the club, adding that the club will not be the same under his management.

According to head coach Christian Cole, he was delighted to return back to the club he played for during his days as player and was very happy to return the past glories to the team.

Cole said they were able to fulfil the GM assignment because of unity, hard work and supports.

He said: “I fell happy to return home, and I want to promise you GM that the trophy will be ours and I am going to win it three years in a row by God’s grace.”
