Sheffield United signals premiership coming

Newly promoted division one side, Sheffield United, celebrated 2-0 victory over Dallarosa FC in the ongoing national league.

The club’s victory has sent a signal to premiership clubs that up and coming clubs have the potential to make it tough if promoted to the premier league.

The match which was played at the National Stadium Monday 4th saw both teams battling for a point to qualify for the Sierra Leone Premier League next season.

Despite Dallarosa’s prominence in the first division (two seasons) they performed poorly on the pitch of play as their opponent Sheffield was in total control of the match.

Sheffield, a 4 month old football club, is currently leading the first division table with 8 points out of 4 games.

Murray Town Rovers is in second position with 6 points after playing three games. They have a game at hand and three more matches to play.

In an interview with Sheffield’s head coach Lolly Bailor, he said his team will surely win the remaining three matches, adding that ‘Sheffield is on the ROAD TO PREMIERSHIP.’

“I will not underrate any team at this pointing in time.”

The tactician coach maintained that his aim is to clinch 7 points from the three remaining matches.

Manager Fred Claye however told our ace sport reporter that he is happy with progress so far made by his team.

He noted that there is hope his side will make it to the premiership next football season.

He further said that he is not happy with the conduct of both the Western Area Football Association and the Sierra Leone Football Association in the way and manner in which the leagues are organized in the country.

That  the first four winners of the first division are compelled to play round robbing qualification to enable them get the top two teams to be promoted to the premiership.
