What’s going on at Sierra Leone’s Mission to the UN in New York? Money wahala case looming?

I have been readily informed by at least five people that at sometime, about one year ago, a cheque in an amount of approximately $500,000 or more was given by the government of Sierra Leone to a certain employee of the UN mission for the express purpose of renovating the chancery buildings which are in a dilapidated and unclean shape. It is reported that the insides of the building stink, and the facilities are subpoena. With these reported conditions to our chancery, why is it then that it has taken all this time since the money was released for the work on the chancery to begin.

One would think that a responsible government would first get an estimate for the amount of work that was scheduled to be done on the building and the amount of money it would take to accomplish the work, prior to the release of any monies by the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At this point in my investigations, it is not clear whether or not there have been any violations of the Anti Corruption laws of Sierra Leone with regards to the dispensation of these monies. I will therefore refrain from making an allegation that anyone has committed any crimes. I however by this post seek to make it clear that we are eagerly waiting and watching this spectacle unfold. If it turns out that this is another corrupt piranha feed then I will seek to ask the government for redress.

If anyone knows anything about these monies and their present dispensation would they please be willing to contact me at 240 515 6316 which is my cell phone or 510 606 9063 which is my office.

We must all stand up and take positive action against corruption by public officials.

Stay tuned as I keep my ears to the ground!
