Mile 91 set to face Shooting Stars in Div 2 final
Shooting Stars FC of Maburka will engage Mile 91 in the finals of the Tonkolili Division II final organised by the Tonkolili Football Association which started in April of 2011.
Shooting Stars had earlier defeated Yoni FC 5-2 to reach the final while the Shooting Stars defeated Bendegu FC 3-2 in the semi finals.
In an interview with Sierra Express, the chairman Northern Region Football Association, Umaru C. Bah said the competition has come out successful.
He said since the commencement of the tournament there has been no report of violence on the part of players, officials and supporters.
He furthered that this year’s tournament is most successful of all tournaments ever organized by the district association.
“The tournament is a competitive one and the teams demonstrated real sportsmanship behavior on and off the pitch. The performance of the young lads proved that the region is full of young talent that would represent the country in the near future. The final is going to be entertaining and competitive because both teams are eager to lift the prestigious trophy”, he said.
He however encourages football followers across the country to witness the final come Sunday 19th at the Maburka playing ground.
