Bogus Bumbuna wrecks NPA

Just recently, it was revealed that the NPA has been paying billions to management of Bumbuna for merely supplying 6 megawatts of electricity.
It could be recalled that in November of 2009, Sierra Leoneans were in the streets to celebrate the commissioning of first phase of aged old Bumbuna Hydro, which according to the Information Minister, I.B Kargbo, would supply at least 19 megawatts to residents of Freetown.
The Minister guaranteed Sierra Leoneans of an increase in the supply of Bumbuna light shortly after completion of the second phase by early 2010.
According to the manager of NPA, Dr. Zubairu Kalokoh, he said the Bumbuna hydro has created obvious financial trouble to the NPA, adding that the institution has paid a whopping and wasteful Le 40 billion to management of Bumbuna for merely providing 6 megawatts of power supply.
The shock was observed when in 2010; residents of Freetown suffered frequent unavailability of electricity supplies.

Even though the Minister of Energy and Power, in 2010, told Sierra Leoneans that the low rate of electricity supply in Freetown was due to a low water level at the Bumbuna dam, facts have it that the hydro is outdated and on the brink of falling down.
Much to the disappointment of consumers of electricity, management of the NPA last week engaged members of the Sierra Leone media to au-fait them of monies their institution has been spending on Bumbuna for simply supplying 6 megawatts.
Consequently, the existence of the Bumbuna Hydro is as if a contributor to NPA’s low supply of electricity to residents of Freetown.
Facts have it conspicuous that Bumbuna is unimportant and has made no good to Sierra Leoneans, but rather contributed to the drastic fall of electricity supply.

This is what we call true journalism. This Bumbuna hydro issue had been a baffle issue to conscious Sierra Leones. Some illiterates still believe the hydro is functioning but the truth is now revailing to them so they can believe that they have been dumped by those they believe are doing well for the country.
