Sending home fans ecstatic, AIK Solna striker Ibrahim Tetteh Bangura broke the deadlock in the 47th minute with a header off a long throw from defender David Simbo.

This was Tetteh’s first goal for his country and his second cap at international level.  Sierra Leone dominated the entire first half but was unable to open the score sheet.

A brilliant display in front of the home fans.   Kei Kamara, Ibrahim Bangura, and Mohamed Bangura were excellent in their partnership giving the Niger defenders the toughest task ever.

Sierra Leone now have 5 points from four matches, while group leaders South Africa will face a tough task ahead in the Military Stadium on Sunday evening in match that will decide this group.

Niger remains on six points and is still in second position despite being defeated in Freetown this weekend.

This is the first victory for Swedish Olof Mattsson since taking over as the National head Coach in March 2011.
