Paul Kamara and the Sports ministry
The appointment of Paul Kamara to the very sensitive Ministry of Youth Employment and Sports is another sad example of this government’s practice of putting the squarest of square pegs in the roundest of round holes. (Photo: Dr. Sama Banya)
Instead of helping his boss to put things right, Paul has become part of the problem.
He began his assignment not with cooperation but with confrontation with the Football Association.
In Tam-Baryoh’s Monologue programme over the weekend he talked incessantly of “the problem or the issues” but when asked what they were, he merely “waffled.” He stressed that the FA was under him. Someone ought to remind the minister that the world football governing body FIFA frowns uncompromisingly on any government that attempts to interface directly with the running of the national football organization and SLFA runs the risk of being suspended by FIFA unless the minister ceases to interfere with the direct running of the association.
His Excellency should take corrective measures before his government is embarrassed.
