As Golden Jubilee celebrations wrap up in Europe… Sierra Leone Embassy staff clinch Air France/KLM star prize

Air France/KLM flight operators last Monday presented the star prize to the lucky winner of its raffle draw organised during Sierra Leone’s Golden Jubilee celebrations on April 27 at the offices of the Sierra Leone Embassy in Brussels.

The winner, Regina Mukondola, a Secretary/Receptionist at the Sierra Leone Embassy in Brussels, was in a joyous mood as she received the return air ticket to Freetown from the operator’s Africa Product Manager, Suzanne Cattrysse.

Presenting the ticket, Madam Cattrysse thanked the Embassy for extending an invitation to the airline to participate in the Golden Jubilee celebrations and added that the ticket was just a small gesture and sign of appreciation. She said Air France/KLM will continue to partner with Sierra Leone in the country’s developmental strides.

Receiving her ticket prize, Miss Mukondola, in an exuberant mood expressed joy in emerging as the winner and hoped the airline will continue to patronise Sierra Leone.  Coincidentally, Miss Mukondola happens to have the same birthday as that of Sierra Leone, April 27.

This is the second time Miss Mukondola has won a star prize of an air ticket to Freetown. In July last year at the city of Gent in Belgium, she also won a return air ticket from Brussels Airlines.

In congratulating her, the Embassy’s Head of Chancery, Haja Fatmata Binta Wurie simply described Miss Mukondola as a “lucky woman”.

When actually Miss Mukondola will utilise her prize since the ticket lasts for only one year, is any body’s guess. But speculations are rife that she might be preparing to land in Freetown during this year’s  Christmas festive season.
