So he that keepeth power/electricity keepeth not the 50th anniversary celebration come the dark April 27th.

“My government,” he said, “without fail will submit to Sierra Leoneans a thousand or more megawatt in the enhancement of power supply in the whole country by 2017,” words of whom is believed as Sierra Leone’s biggest politician.

Had the National Power Authority (NPA) want to deprive Sierra Leoneans of electricity supply, April 27th should have been a definitive exemption.

In fact, April unlike other months of the year should be given exemplary treatment by Sierra Leone and Sierra Leoneans.

‘Aw bar porson nor 4 talk, ol tem dem say wata low or sulza 5, 4,3,2,1 don pwell,’ too shameful.

Just a few days to Sierra Leone’s 50th birthday, it is observed that light, which was visible at homes in Freetown, seemed not noticeable at all.

Mr. Express was at streets of Freetown yesterday to sound people’s opinion of government’s celebrations of Sierra Leone the 50th anniversary.

It was judgmentally observed that most Sierra Leoneans supported the initiative of celebrating Sierra Leone’s independence, not on grounds of achievement, but on the grounds of patriotism and nationalism.

“Look, it is of course no secret, that many homes are unable to meet the expense of three meals a day; almost all give in to one meal a day – sometimes at 8 pm or at most 9 pm everyday,” residents of Central Freetown say.

Allow me to take a break; but say light is desperately needed, especially by city residents on the eve and 27th April respectively.
