It’s good to know the lamp still glows!
Contrary to negative prognosis, the UK and Republic of Ireland chapter of UNPP held its second AGM on the 9th April 2011 in London. The meeting was well attended by members from Germany, Holland, Belgium, France and USA.
Matters of party and national concerns were addressed including convention and 2012 Presidential and Parliamentary elections in Sierra Leone. It’s now evidently clear that we will contest the 2012 elections to form the next Government of Sierra Leone defeating the melon political party’s of Sierra Leone.
We have agreed to agree the date for the forth coming convention to be on 19 and 20th August 2011 in Freetown where detailed manifesto policies will be available and debated with nationwide campaign to form the next Government of Sierra Leone. The UNPP has secured its funding to meet the challenges ahead of the election along with its parliamentary representatives.
We therefore call on the International Community, the Government of Sierra Leone and electoral commission to open the gateway of freedom, security and FAIR play allowing democracy and the people to make their choice without threat of molestation, reprehension, restraint, vandalism or even bully boy’s tactics – Big brother will be watching you.
Mohamed Ben KAMARA, UNPP Ambassador
