APC fundraising Ambassador jets in today
Honourable Dauda Tombo Bangura (in photo), the Fundraising Ambassador of the ruling All People’s Congress (APC) party, jets in today Thursday 21st April 2011, to bolster the party’s fundraising campaign ahead of the crucially important 2012 general elections and to join the rest of the Sierra Leonean populace in celebrating the country’s 50th golden jubilee.
Known popularly as DTB, the fundraising ambassador at a recent fundraising tour in Canada, was accorded an unprecedented welcome by APC party loyalists who referred to his visit not only as a step in the right direction, but one that has boosted their morale and gave them the assurance that they are now duly recognized by the national secretariat in Freetown.
In his address to a mammoth gathering of APC stalwarts in Toronto, Hon. Dauda Tombo Bangura informed his audience that his main aim of visit was to sensitize party activists in that part of the world about the achievements the APC has recorded since attaining state authority in 2007 and to form a fundraising Committee in preparation for the coming elections.
As chairman of the national fundraising committee that is headquartered at the APC party national secretariat in Freetown, Hon. Dauda Tombo Bangura assured members that they are part and parcel of the broader APC family and global structure, adding that the onus now lies on them to ensure that they contribute meaningfully towards the party’s electoral victory in the coming elections.
On behalf of the Toronto Chapter, Secretary General Nixon Bangura, the former Station Manager of Radio Mankneh in Makeni, welcomed DTB and assured him that they will work collectively to support the party’s 2012 campaign both financially and morally.
Mr. Nixon Bangura showered praises on DTB for being the first high-profiled APC official to pay them a working visit, noting that they had earlier thought that despite their efforts in promoting the party’s image in Canada, they are yet to be officially recognized. He urged DTB to frequently keep in touch with them, so as to help coordinate their fundraising ventures and to be able to find solutions to problems that they might encounter along the way.
Meanwhile, DTB has received a formal invitation from another chapter in Canada, for a fundraising visit.
