Reverend Father dragged to court
Reverend Kenso Kotho Kai Kanu of the Baptist Church at Peacock-Farm, Wellington yesterday made his second appearance before Magistrate Wellington of the Freetown Magistrate Court No.2 for false pretence.
According to the prosecution, the accused by means of false claimed having a piece of land for sale.
Giving his evidence, the first prosecution witness, Tamba Benjamin told the court that he gave the sum of four hundred and fifty thousand Leones (Le450,000.00) to the accused to have him secure a piece of land for him.
That the accused promised to make available all necessary documents relating to the said land.
He disclosed that since then he has neither received any document nor the piece of land from the accused.
Matter is adjourned to 7th April where it is expected that cross examination will commenced.
