Le1m bail for fraudster
A Muslim cleric, Sheik Umaru Kamara, has been granted bail in the sum of one million Leones with two sureties in like sum, bail to be approved by the Master and Register.
The accused was charged with a single count charge of fraudulent conversion.
In the particulars of offence it is alleged that between the 1st and 28th February 2011, at No. 20 Hagan Street, the accused fraudulently converted goods valued six hundred and fifty thousand Leones (Le650,000.00) belonging to Mohamed Ishmael Bangura complaint in the matter.
Making his application for bail, defense lawyer Thompson said that the accused person is a Sierra Leonean who has reliable sureties to stand for him.
He assured the court that his client will not interfere with any of witnesses in the matter and will always make himself available when needed by the court.
The accused was however granted bail and the matter was adjourned to the 8th April 2011.
