Press Release from the office of Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara
The office of Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara wishes to advise all members of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party to take heed of the present delicate, sometimes understandably tense but very healthy democratic exercise taking place within the party with respect to on-going constituency, district and regional elections and be guided by the fact that the SLPP is a peaceful and democratic party. Therefore all our political differences must be settled and all our political objectives must be achieved by peaceful and democratic means. At 50 come April 27 we must not for one moment forget that this is what the party stands for, our members have lived for, many have died and many more will die for.
We must at all times distance ourselves from, strongly condemn and resist any attempt by anyone to incite tribal and regional sentiments both within and outside the party. Sierra Leoneans are One People! Sierra Leone is One Country! Our only country. We urge all members of the National Executive, regional, district and constituency structures to work in the interest of party unity. We all, without exception, must always respect the authority of the leadership of the party and the rule of law. Let us exercise discipline and restraint for the sake of peace and progress in Sierra Leone.
Ultimately, only one aspirant will emerge as a flag bearer and will require all other fellow aspirants and their supporters to help win the 2012 elections. It is not in the interest of any of those aspiring for the position of party flag bearer and their supporters to antagonize each other directly or indirectly. In the spirit and principle of democracy, violence must be unequivocally denounced both within and without the SLPP in the interest of peace, political stability, national integrity and development.
Long live Sierra Leone Peoples Party!!! Long live Democracy and Peace!!! Long live Sierra Leone!!!Stay with Sierra Express Media, for your trusted place in news!
