Sierra Leone’s skipper ready for Niamey cracker

Sierra Leone skipper Ibrahim Obreh Kargbo (in photo) says he’s ready to take part in Sunday’s Nations Cup qualifier against the Mena’s of Niger in their home soil.

The FC Baku defensive midfielder has been waiting for what has been described as Sierra Leone’s biggest game if they are to stay in a better position in reaching AFCON 2012 slated for Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

The player from Azerbaijan was very instrumental when Sierra Leone hosted South Africa in Freetown and this time wants to leave Niamey helping his national side taking maximum points.

The former Willem II midfielder is optimistic they can clinch the result needed, but maintained it’s going to be crucial.

“Of course it is been dubbed as a crucial encounter for both sides, most especially South Africa hosting Egypt an draw between the two will make a nice advantage for us and Niger, so thinking about that it will be great if we take our chances, but I think it will be the same as the last game against South Africa, where you don’t want to drop points” he said.

“I have been around the team many years now so I can tell you these sets of players are ready and determined to reach their first African Cup of Nation. I think this is our biggest game but there is no pressure.

“We will go into the game 100% focused and we are aware it is a must that we get all the three points, as a nation we have been out of this tournament for a while, he noted.

Most the Sierra Leone foreign players are expected on Wednesday in Niger.
